It served in General Pettigrew's and Pender's Brigade, totalled 146 men in April, 1862, and was active in the Seven Day's Battles. The unit later merged into the 3rd Arkansas Regiment.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThree companies were organized at Hot Springs, El Dorado, and Pine Bluff and moved to Virginia to join with the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/civilwarintheeast.com\/confederate-regiments\/arkansas\/1st-arkansas-infantry-regiment\/\"\u003eFirst Arkansas Infantry Regiment\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut when they arrived the 1st Arkansas had its full complement of companies.  The three companies organized as a battalion under the command of Major William N. Bronaugh of Little Rock. The three companies were commanded by Captains Joseph Gregory, Henry H. Beavers, and John R. Lacey.
