These companies were form Monroe, Choctaw, Wilcox, Mobile, Perry, Dallas, Calhoun, and Autauga counties. The unit served under Generals J.T. Morgan and W.W. Allen, and participated in the Battles of Bramlet's Station, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=ky009\"\u003ePerryville\u003c\/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=tn010\"\u003eMurfreesboro\u003c\/a\u003e, Shelbyville, and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=ga004\"\u003eChickamauga\u003c\/a\u003e. Later it fought in the Knoxville and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=ga017\"\u003eAtlanta\u003c\/a\u003e Campaigns, the defense of Savannah, and the conflicts at Aiken, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=nc018\"\u003eFayetteville\u003c\/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=nc020\"\u003eBentonville\u003c\/a\u003e, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. Only a few men were present when the Army of Tennessee surrendered in April, 1865. The field officers were Colonel James Hagan, Lieutenant Colonel Tyirie H. Mauldin, and Majors Frank Y.
