Harrison. The 5th participated in the campaigns of the Army of Tennessee from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=tn010\"\u003eMurfreesboro\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan\u003e to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=ga017\"\u003eAtlanta\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, then served at Savannah and fought in North Carolina. This unit lost thirty-seven percent of the 173 engaged at Murfreesboro and fifty-five percent of the 317 at \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/civilwar\/search-battles-detail.htm?battleCode=ga004\"\u003eChickamauga\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. It totalled 227 men and 137 arms in December, 1863, and had 256 effectives in March, 1865.
