The Augusta Depot Jackets were issued to the forces within the Department of South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia garrisoning the Southern coastline. Additionally some amount of the production was utilized by the Army of Tennessee within the period of 1864 and 1865, with known examples linked to the Atlanta and Nashville Campaigns of 1864. There is a finally example believed to have been produced by Augusta Depot and is linked to the Army of Northern Virginia during the Gettysburg Campaign.

This reproduction is based on a jacket worn by Robert E. Reynolds who served in the Army of Northern Virginia with Company C, Virginia Norfolk Light Artillery. Reynolds was captured at Gettysburg and would die as a prisoner of war shortly there after. The jacket is constructed from a grayish green wool tweed, lined in cotton osanburg, includes two patch pockets, and does not have any belt loops.

These jackets are believed to have been made at a variety of locations, including Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. Amongst the reenactment community, these have been referred historically as "Atlanta" Depot jackets for the past 40 years.
