Historical Background and Original Flag:

An Arkansas Volunteer Infantry battle flag designed in a variation of the First Confederate National Flag pattern dated to 19861-1863. This variation of the first national flag shows twelve white stars, nine describing a circle and three within it on blue fabric in the upper left corner. The field is composed of three bars red, white, and red. "A VOL" is stitched in red fabric on the white bar.

The unit was organized at Pine Bluff, Arkansas in July of 1861 with John M. Bradley as Col. The unit most likely lost its colors at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863. The flag was previously attributed to the 9th Arkansas, however, this designation is now suspect. The flag was returned to Arkansas in 1941 by the State of Michigan.

Each purchase comes with three stickers or one magnet.
