6th and 7th Arkansas - 2nd National Flag Shirt
The battle flag of the Arkansas 6th and 7th Regiment used from 1863 to 1865. It is a rectangular-horizontal shape. The upper right corner has red field with blue bars that are crossed in an "X" from corner to corner. The "X" has eleven white stars remaining (possibly could have been thirteen at one time). The rest of the flag is white and is divided into three bars. The top bar has the "6th & 7th Regts." painted on it in red at a slant and is surrounded by filigree. The center bar has "God & Our Country" painted in red at a slant. Across the bottom bar are the battle honors: "Shiloh, Perryville, Murfreesboro" painted in red capital block letters.
The 6th & 7th Arkansas Infantry Regiments participated in every major battle west of the Mississippi River in which the Army of Tennessee was involved. This flag is the only known Second National pattern in existence with Arkansas provenance that displays battle honors. The Missouri State Museum donated this flag to the Old State House Museum in 2009.
Original flag can be viewed here.
The shirt can be purchased with the battle flag field present or removed. If ordered on a non-white shirt, the design will inlaced the full field.
