8th Arkansas 1st National Flag Stickers/Magnet
Historical Background and Original Flag:
"The Battle Flag of the 8th Regiment, Arkansas Volunteer Infantry dated to 1861 - 1862. The flag is composed of three horizontal bars in red, white and red with a 2-inch wide red fringe on fly edge. The canton is dark blue, measuring fourteen inches on the staff by fourteen and a half inches on the fly with the white letter "A" in block style located three inches high in the center. There are a total of twelve five-point stars in the canton. One is located in the center over the "A", ten are in a circle around the "A", and one is in the lower staff corner. Embroidered in gold in a chain stitch in the white bar is, "March on! March on! All hearts resolved on victory or death."
The 8th Arkansas Infantry Regiment served in Cleburne’s division during the Tullahoma campaign, as did the 1st Arkansas Infantry Regiment. The flag was presented to the unit raised in Jacksonport by William Patterson in the summer of 1861. This flag was most likely retired when flags in the Hardee pattern were issued to the Army of Central Kentucky in early 1862."
Each purchase comes with three stickers or one magnet.
