Collection: Kentucky

The Bluegrass State was admitted to the Union on June 1, 1792, and was final state to be accepted in the Confederacy on December 10, 1861. Kentucky was a state divided in loyalty, but as her initial desire to remain neutral in the conflict became increasingly impossible, both sides eventually formed governments in the state. Her motto is  Deo gratiam habeamus, or, "Let us be grateful to God."
