Department of SC, FL, GA

Often overlooked, the Department of South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia would be tasked with the vital defense of the Confederate coastline and the two vital seaports of Savannah and Charleston. The forces within this department would primarily serve in the various garrison and fortifications from the swamps of Florida to the border of North Carolina. Additionally, these regiments were often rotated back and forth from the garrisons to then serve in the Army of Tennessee, Army of Mississippi, and Army of Northern Virginia. They would participate in actions including Battery Wagner, Fort Sumter, Secessionville, Oceans Pond, Fort McAllister, and many others.
