Like many states within the Confederacy, Georgia separately supplemented the supply of garments issued by the Confederate government. This example is based on a period image of the 15th Georgia infantry, with details in construction copying those found on surviving examples. The jacket has a trimmed collar and false cuff facing (with no buttons).
Examples of these jackets are seen from 1861-1864, with it being notable that such jackets are found in the Gettysburg Dead photos from July 2, 1863.
