January 15, 1861 - An Act for Organization of the Amy of Alabama
General Order #1
Uniform was to consist of a dark blue frock (dress coat) and cadet gray trousers. The overall cut and trim is nearly identical to that of the M1858 Dress Coat, with some variations seen amongst the known photos. The coats were closed with AVC buttons per the regulations. While no surviving examples these are constructed per known pre-war 1858 Dress Coats and have the skeleton lining commonly found in pre-war frock coats.
