One of the more interesting garments to come out of the Lower South was the coatee worn by members of the 19th Alabama. Unlike most examples of coatees from the early war, this garment was made from jean cloth and was extremely plain. The garment having no trim present, with overall style not dissimilar to any other "un-trimmed" frock - but cut with tails.
The reproduction is made from jean cloth, lined in a mix of osanburg, and closed with Alabama State Buttons.
