Overshirt based on a period images from the 1840-1860s. Similar to the more commonly known overshirt, these garments are loose fitting long smocks typically worn for use in manual labor (trades, farming, and etc.). The are of particular note in images and drawings of Germanic and Prussian immigrants to the region of Missouri during the late 1850s.
