Confederate overfrock coat based on a period image and construction and patterning based on an original example in my collection. The coat features two waist false covered pockets and one chest pocket. Similar to the Federal M1851 Overcoat, the overfrock has a cape, but lacks the buttoning featue. Per the original photo the coat is made from a dark wool jean cloth. While distinctly military, the style is fairly generic across all theaters and period within the conflict.
