Among the many garments pressed into service by the forces of Missouri and Arkansas, the simple wool overshirt in various plaids appear to be common place in the opening year of the war.
This shirt is based on a surviving photo from the Dallas Light Artillery. Per the known photos and periods descriptions, the shirts are made from red wool, trimmed in blue, and closed with small brass buttons.
