Like many states within the Confederacy, Georgia separately supplemented the supply of garments issued by the Confederate government. This example is based on a period image, with details in construction copying those found on surviving examples. The jacket comes with a wool trimmed collar, back broadcloth/jean epaulets and false cuff flaps, and an outside pocket. The jacket is closed with Georgia state buttons.
Examples of these jackets are seen from 1861-1864, with it being notable that such jackets are found in the Gettysburg Dead photos from July 2, 1863.
