The trousers are based on a series of trousers believed to have been produced in the Montgomery and Selma areas. The trousers share many similarities, there appear to be roughly three different sub-variations in patterning. This is primarily in the pockets, which include waistband, side-seam, and mule-ear. All surviving examples utilize wooden and bone buttons, a mixture of osnaburg and drill lining, and were made from lightly dyed or undyed jean cloths.
