North Carolina State Issue Jacket
North Carolina State Issue Jacket
North Carolina State issue jacket based on a surviving example linked to Charlotte production in 1865. While the jacket was likely made at the end of the war, this style of garment was issued to the state forces of the state from 1862-1865. These jackets would be a mainstay for the Old North State during the majority of the conflict.
It is also an interesting note that several of these jackets, including the jacket this example is based upon, are linked to soldier from Maryland. During the final months of the war, the troops from that state received a number of sets of these jackets- most notably to the 2nd Maryland during the Appomattox Campaign.
