Richmond Clothing Bureau Jacket English Army Cloth 1864-1865
Richmond Clothing Bureau Jacket English Army Cloth 1864-1865
The final pattern of the Richmond Clothing Bureau Jacket (sometimes referred to as the Type III), was the most simplified pattern of the jackets issued by Richmond. Issued from the Q2 of 1864 on, the jacket deleted the use of both the shoulder epaulets and belt loops from the jacket and all appear to have been made from English Army Cloth. While earlier patterns see extensive use of machines, these jackets appear to have been all handsewn and incorporate various unusual construction details such as collar darts. All such features are included within the reproduction.
